I live in Wyoming. Does Salt Lake City serve me?
It depends on the county. The district includes the Wyoming counties of Big Horn, Fremont, Hot Springs, Lincoln, Park, Sublette, Sweetwater, Teton, Uinta and Washakie. If your county is not on that list, another consulate is responsible: check the consular districts table before booking.
Does it cover the whole state of Utah?
Yes. It is the only Mexican consulate in Utah and covers all 29 counties, from Logan down to St. George. If you live in the south, Las Vegas may be closer in miles, but Salt Lake City is still your consular office.
I am driving from St. George or Vernal. Can I do several things in one day?
Often yes, but each service takes its own slot in the schedule. When booking through MEXITEL, say you are travelling from out of town and ask whether consecutive appointments are possible, for example passport and consular ID. Having every document checked beforehand is what saves the most trips.
What do I need for a consular ID in Utah?
You need proof of Mexican nationality (birth certificate), proof of identity (photo ID) and proof of address within the district (utility bill or lease in your name). See our consular ID guide for details; the consulate confirms requirements and fees when you book.
Is there an after-hours emergency number?
Yes: (801) 971-7305 is the emergency line. For routine matters use (801) 521-8502 during office hours. The Center for Information and Assistance to Mexicans (CIAM) also operates 24 hours from Mexico.
Does the consulate travel outside Salt Lake City?
The consulate organizes mobile consulate days to reach communities far from the Wasatch Front and in western Wyoming. Dates are announced at short notice and slots go quickly, so follow the consulate's official channels if you live far from the capital.
